Cognitive and behavioral therapy are based on learning theory-relieving th epersons symptoms by unlearning maladaptive behavior patterns.These are: systemic desensitization, aversive conditionig, flooding and impolsion, token economy, biofeedback. Psychotherapy includes family therapy, group, marital, supportive, interpersonal therapy, psychoanalysis, which is based on Freud's concepts of the uncoscious mind and defence mechanisms.

thanks! so are you saying congnitive therary and behavior therapy are the same? where did you find the related topic, may I know?

cognitive BT is used fr Tx of depression and other behavioural problems and focus is put on pt's thoughts about himself and the surroundings It helps the depressed person recognize which life problems are critical, and which are minor. It also helps to develop positive life goals, and a more positive self-assessment...
