1)Absolute - is measured by incidence
2)Relative= inc. of disease in persons exposed to the risk factor/
inc. of disease in persons not exposed to the fisk factor
3)Attributable= to inc. of disease in exposed persons minus the incidence of the disease in non exposed persons
the above require cohort studies
Odds ratio = odds that a case was exposed to a risk factor/ odds that a control was exposed to a risk factor (may involve case control studies and cross multiplying
