what speciality you want determined which match you use. For the commone ones, IM, FP, Peds, Surg, it is the NRMP match (www.nrmp.org). For Neuro it is the San Francisco match. Deadlines, should ideally have ECFMG certificate by the time you apply to programs (applications open Sept 1). Latest is you should have all your tests for EFMG cert. done by the rank order deadline (for NRMP match) usually in middle of Feb.
