USMLE 1 is a big challange specially for those from outside the USA with totally diffrenet systems in medicine, me as 1 of those decided to start the count down for step 1 as a better chance for a better practice

what is postive about it; is that i'm a heavy smoker 40 cig/day for almost 7 years...during my perp from kaplan notes i read the quittin program and here i am thanks to step 1 decided to stop smoking that has been like 17 days now and i am usuing nicorette dermal patches 15mg /16 hrs as a gradual withdrwal problem and gum during real craving periods

take the psotive side of the challange itself and apply it..... grin well even if i wont score 90s i would be happy to gain a support for quiting the deemed smokin

PRAY FOR ME TO WITHSTAND AND NOT TO RELAPSE

U can beat this addiction to smoking with will power and motivation. U have both. So when the craving gets too much, just don't give up and hang in there.

everytime I felt "the craving" I took a full breath and held it for as long as I could. This would simulate the feeling of inhaling deeply. As for me, oral and playing with the ciggarette and taking giganitic drags was 50% of my addiction. the other 50% was the nicotine that you're already covered for with the patch.

good luck. and it can happen!

hiya
good for you.
mark twain once said" to quit smoking is easy. i should know becoz i quit a thousand times"
the real test comes not initially but later when you feel that you have managed to quit smoking and your defenses are down. i hope you are on the guard all the time and this helps you to quit it completely
