while operating on a patient for acute appendicitis, the surgeon finds a meckels diverticulum. What should the surgeon do about it. Should he remove the M.diverticulum or not?

if he finds that the cause of the problem is meckel's diverticulum and not appendix then he can remove it.

There is no necessary of cause of problem......but which condition is more serious... For acute appendicitis already consent is taken & is serious condition so shud operate it.... Now problem is Diverticulosis...For this surgeon shud wait for pts consciousness  take consent then remove it (b/c it is not a serious condition)... If surgeon has gotten a serious problem during an operation then there is no necesarry of consent & proceed to correct it..... 8)

so.. if pt. can't be awaken fr anesthesia & the discovered problem is not life threatening then MD should leave it alone. Can't ask permission fr the husband or immediae relative to ask consent.
