Received my step 3 result today.

Passed it with a score of 86/210.

It was much more than what I was hoping for. grin

I read for only 5 weeks after my interviews. used kaplans for step 2, most of swanson, some chapters of crush, ccs from usmleworld and kaplan q book for questions.

No qbank nor usmleworld questions or any other book due to lack of time.

also i didnt had any sort of clincal experience as i am fresh grad.

Would you recommend subscribing to usmleworld (ccs, etc) or would the other books you mentioned suffice for step 3 review? Thanks!

Ya I would recommend usmleworld for CCS for 2 reasons. 1) its not that expensive. 50$ for 30 days is a price equivalent to any book you'll buy in place of it. 2) There is no other good and credible source of CCS prep out there.

IMO usmleword ccs are enough to prepare for ccs which are quite simple in the actual exam.

If you ask me than I would suggest using a good medicine book as a reference alongwith your preparation such as CMDT or Washington Manual but often paucity of time doesnt allows that. If you are short of time than the resources I mentioned are more than enough and if you want to add something to it than do more questions either from Qbank or usmleworld and that will be of most help I guess.

Hi Nonstopdoc,
When did you take the exam? I took my exam on March 17th and 18th. When can I expect the results? Did you get them by regular mail or is there any other method of knowing the result before hand.I need this result as a requirement for step 3, so please answer this question.

I took my exam on 7th and 8th of march...result reported on 30th and I received it on 4th april. So i guess you have to wait for 10 more days.

Theres no other way to know. NBME site will only tell you wheter your result has been reported or not but not whether you passed or flunked.

How to check Whether or not result is reported on nbme site? I tried but invain. Please let me know the procedure in detail.Hope I am not asking toomuch.

Where did you match and which subject?
I am MD in Pediatrics from India, Board certified in Pediatrics too (India),and now got a Pre-match in Pediatircs in NewYork.
