Factitious Disorder- conscious prod'n of s/sxs of both med & mental
disorders.
-assume the sick role---hospitalization
-gets angry when confronted
Malingering- conscious prod'n of s/sxs for an obvious GAIN ( money,
avoidance of work, free bed& board, etc)
-preoccupied more w/ rewards than alleviation of sxs.

Factitious.....conscious production of s/s with unconscious motivation
Malingering.....Both production of s/s & motivation are intentional..
