Hello everybody!!! I,m studying medicine in the Europe and I'm a little bewildered because of my new personal situation. Since I was in the USA first time I have been dying for living there. Now ,when I got green card I,m just half-happy guy because I met people who told me that for IMG go in to the orthopedic residency program is almost impossilble and the truth is that I must be an orthopaedist no matter what (I love this specialization and I spare a lot of time for it).If there are some IMG on this forum who want to be an orthopaedist ,please! be so kind and share some informations (how you plan to do or did it!!!) with me. If anybody knows something about IMG's chances for this residency ,PLEASE HELP!

Cheer up my friend! I am interested in neurosurgery not in orthopaedics, but you can check statistics in freida, almost 10 % of residents in orthopaedics are IMG, so it is not imposible but harder, comparing to more than 40% of IMG in internal medicine for instance. volunteer yourself in a orthopaedics lab, score high, get USCE, do everithing in your hands to make it happen. at the end your efforts will pay off. blessings
