Blocking or suppression- voluntary withholding of an idea or feeling fr conscious awareness
Repression-involuntary w/holding of an idea fr conscious awareness.

All defnse mechanisms are unconscious....
So Blocking is......transient block in thinking recover just after some time.
while repression is .....feeling or idea is eliminated from conscious & usually not recoverable without some trauma or psychoanalysis..

Repression is the blocking of unacceptable impulse from consciousness
As an abused child don't remember that he is abused.
Suppression is the only one that is conscious
