Hi, Iam an Indian, doing research on J1 visa at university. What are the chances I will get the waiver if I apply for one (thru NOC from India)? Is it advisable to get a lawyer for this process? How do you tell that its a j1 research visa, i mean looking at tha visa. how will guys working at state deptt will know its j1 research visa. kindly anyone (with MBBS/Md degree from India ) who were on j1 research visa and got it converted to H1 will email me on amitforfrd@yahoo.com.I am in dire need of some information . Anykind of help/info greatly appreciated. Thanks Amit

Hey.....I know a great site that you can get some info on J1 WAIVER.. it is actually not that difficulty if you are where you are looking http://www.essentialmedicine.net/residentresource... and there site where you can registered for free and searching for availiable J1 waiver program across the country....all the info are contained in the link page that I have posted above... just go and check it out...if you have any questions...just let me know
