ok i found the answer generally high glucose levels are not of great importance in the pleural fluid, but there are some important conditions that should be excluded... 1. after a high glucose meal normal pleural fluid glucose level increases 2. infusothorax :arrow: the extravasation of the central venous catheter..(esp.in newborns) 3. peritoneal dialyses fluid leakage in the pleura

GLUCOSE LEVELS ARE <60MG/DL IN THESE CONDITIONS they are exudative in nature. transudate have a glucose level >60 eg ...ccf, nephrotic $ ect

right.. and especially in rhematoid arthritis glucose levels are the lowest .. generally lower than 15 mg/dl

=> 50 is a transudate and < 50 is an exudate. And yes, RA is the lowest level of glucose (=<10)
