generally high glucose levels are not of great importance in the pleural fluid, but there are some important conditions that should be excluded...

1. after a high glucose meal normal pleural fluid glucose level increases
2. infusothorax  the extravasation of the central venous catheter..(esp.in newborns)
3. peritoneal dialyses fluid leakage in the pleura

GLUCOSE LEVELS ARE <60MG/DL IN THESE CONDITIONS they are exudative in nature.
transudate have a glucose level >60 eg ...ccf, nephrotic $ ect

  #5

right..
and especially in rhematoid arthritis glucose levels are the lowest ..
generally lower than 15 mg/dl

  #6

=> 50 is a transudate and < 50 is an exudate. And yes, RA is the lowest level of glucose (=<10)

nod
