Normal Sleep Stages: 1.REM -aroused EEG patterns -sexual arousal -saccadic eye movements -gen. muscular atony -dreams 2.NREM -slowing of the EEG rhythms -absence of eye movements -high muscle tone

Once again......I am not asking about the REM sleep but I am asking about its importance........mean if it disturbed then what will be effects occur in people....that are normally occured during REM sleep.... :lol:

oopps i did it again... sorry.. that would b my reference then... REM importance- awake vs alert stage possibly memory processing fxn.

1)Long term memory is consolidated in Hippocampus during this stage. 2)To learn & perform complex tasks 3)to deal with crisis situation.. 4)For studying..
