Hi everyone. Congratulations to everyone matched. To the ones that didn't, don't lose hope and keep pushing for a position and the best of lucks.

QUESTION:
I am getting my documents ready for my J1 to start in internal medicine.

I am for Mexico but I have been living in the US for a few years. I need to know if STATEMENT OF NEED can be obtained in the US (In a mexican consulate) or do I have to go to Mexico to get it. :?:

Are there any mexicans out there with and answer?

Thanks in advance.

hi,

congrat for yr match! i have a similar prob about the statement of need for J1 visa. is it the statement that our country need us after the residency exchange program?? excuse me if i sound so stupid.....i'm from myanmar, russian grad, staying in Malaysia, still myanmar citizen, but not registered in myanmar coz it needs 3 yrs of house if i register (& no idea to work in my home country either). so obiviously i cann't get this statement of need from my home country. my q is " can i get this statement of letter from private medical center from Malaysia that they need me after my residency programme "?? is it going to work out for J1 visa. would appreciate any reply!!!

I am from Argentina.

The Ministry of Health of my country plainly REFUSES to sign a document where it states that we need doctors to be trained outside the country. 2 months ago, you just had to file a request, and you got your statement in a week... today, state policies have changed and they don't want to sign that anymore....

I am in the middle of a burocratic nightmare...

They want to sign a document where it reads that i have signed that i shall return, and that i am a registered doctor with no infractions in my record, but the ministry wont sign that the country needs me to go away to be trained.

Did anyone ever passed a letter with a modified text?

appeal, after appeal, after appeal, after appeal, I am beggining to change things... but... will i make it on time??
