Hi!

I need an expert in HEREDITARY FRUCTOSE INTOLERANCE = "FRUCTOSE POISONING"? I would appreciate to have the explanation "for dummies" for this items.

1. WHY DOES IT PRESENT WITH HYPOGLYCEMIA? :?:

2. WHAT HAPPENS TO INTRACELLULAR PHOSPHATE? :?:

3. WHAT HAPPENS TO GLYCOGENOLYSIS AND GLUCONEOGENESIS? :?:

I'm sure this will help you to review this topic.

Regards

fructose pathway eventually lead to glycogenesis &gluconeogenesis leading tohypoglycemia in defof enz in fructose met

in aldose B def fructose 1-P IS trapped in cell

good question boss

in fructose intolerance there is def of aldolase. aldolase does not just simply help in frctose metabolism but also helps in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis as said by anju.that later causes hypoglycemia in fasting stastes.

increased fructose1 P causes increased amp/atp ratio for unknown reasons. this causes uricosuria.degradaiton of amp.

fructose directly causes rena tubular toxicity and aciduria and phosphaturia.

glycogenolysis is not obstructed.

Guys, in this question wont inadequate glucose in diet, only, lead to these symptoms of hypoglcemia? If the diet is providing adequate glucose then the person need not convert the fructose into glucose for energy then the symptoms of hypoglycemia should be absent?

hmmm coolmavs!! what happens is when there is no glucose intake the liver shud send glucose to blood. this is where it gets affected. ya as you said if you can give a continuos external glucose you need not have this hypoglycemia problem.
