Please read the exam experiences section. You can see what multiple people have done to get good scores. What I did in brief: read Kaplan notes 4 times. They (plus First Aid for the USMLE Step I) are sufficient for a 99. Do questions from some source (Kaplan Q bank, Q book, etc). Take the NBME practice test close to your exam date to see how you will do on the real test. Most people study 3-6 months for the test. You don't have to use Kaplan. BRS, high yield, Lippincotts are all other popular books. You have plenty of time. Good luck!

Retroviridae: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. your words are real boost! I just started prep for the step 1. got kaplan notes. would you suggest reading FA before the notes? thanks

I would say read FA toward the end. It is hard to memorize from if you are learning it fresh. If it is just a review of what you already know, it goes very fast. But this is personal preference.
