Hello

If he really is your hubby then it shouldn't matter what your parents think. if you apply to the US immigration in a few months he will have his papers and be in the US when you are ready to come back.

My hubby ot me here in no time so I know what I am talking about

What a tough spot to be put in, between families. I thought about this situation for a while, and it came to me while watching an episode of "Sex in the City" - what about a prenuptial type agreement. He writes a statement saying that he is applying for the greencard through you, and that he will give it back if something happens in your marriage. And then have it notarized and show that to your parents.

Now, while it's not legally binding, it might be enough for your parents to see that you are secure in your marriage and this was the adult decision that you decided on.

Good luck

p.s. How do you get a job in research after your internship? You start applying at institutions that have open positions.
