hello,
i took step 2 ck recently.it was a pretty long exam.
some of the questions were short and straight forward but most of them were very tricky and confusing.there were few long qs in every block.i was heavily tested in IM , then paeds, there was a lot of psych qs and then ob gyn, there were only few qs from surgery and ethics/biostats in every block.
i would say that it was a pretty difficult exam.kaplan lecture notes are fine but not gr8, plz dont take kaplan's q bank its a joke compared to the real exam .its a waste of time and money. from the exam point of view its a trash.
usmle world is good. qs are difficult in it but again the qs in the exam appear to be simple and straight but are very tricky. when u read the qs u seem to know it very well but when in the end they ask u the main qs and give u the options u really have to ponder over what is really asked and how to get to the real answer.what information is imp in the qs and what could be neglected.u really have to be alert to solve the mystery in a minute.
i think blue prints q&a are really good from the exam point of view. i dont know whay nobody has mentioned about it b4.i did IM and ob gyn qs from there and they are very close to the exam pattern and style.
all the qs in the exam were very clinical.most of the qs asked about the next step in the management.
i dont know how have i done in the exam. i will post my scores in diff q banks after i will get my exam score.
