Is this an usefull book.Anyone?

Yes,
if you live in other country than USA ,you want to become a doctor in USA and you have no idea about social, financial, real estate ,visa and some other issues and how it works in USA.Plus some chapters about each step, residency and your way in american medicine.
So if you already have a house,SSN,driver lisence, green card in USA and some notion about american life and medicine you don't need a half of this book. Otherwise if you live outside of USA and going to try yourself as american doctor this book is very useful informational support.
I gonna keep this book for two more days so if you have any particular questions regarding this book I'll try to answer .
Regards,
Bonny

Bonny - is this a book that I should refer to my newly matched interns when they have the 3 months to read before they start residency?

Thanks!

Yes,I think so.
I'd recommend them just go to the book store and read last 5 chapters from this book:
Chapter 11-Survival Skills (1st month,FAQ during on-call,dealing with team members, list of helpful pocket books, list of paperwork etc)
12-Getting through residency (history taking american style, daily progress notes, different kinds of clinical situations and other practical daily routine things)
13- Some distinctive features of the Practice Medicine in the USA (more legal, ethical issues, evidence based medicine etc)
14 - The 2nd year of Residency (fellowship hunting,senior r-t,resident as a teacher)
15- The Final Year (job hunt,fellowship,visa issues,job options,board certification,contract etc)
If your interns matched already they don't need all previous chapters about steps, ECFMG,ERAS and other stuff. But last 5 of them can be very interesting and helpful for them. It's about 100 pages, 1/3 of the book, easy to read and take some notes.
Best wishes,
Bonny.

Thanks Bonny - I will keep this book in mind for my new interns. I know that it's hard to move across the world to a new place (yes, I did it once), new language, customs, road signs, etc. Anything to help them would be good!

Thanks - me
