I personally only used Kaplan's book. I looked at FA and thought it was good too. I didn't look at UW. This test is really easy. The only book knowledge to focus on is what is the right way to talk to and examine patients in the US. any of these books has that info. The actual medical science part is basic. The cases are straight forward enough, but designed to let you create several plausible differentials.

Hi, I'd like some follow-up on this topic. I am trying to decide which book to buy for the CS. I am seriously considering Mastering the USMLE Step 2 CS (formerly known as Mastering the OSCE). The other option is, obviously, First Aid. The best book should have: - stuff about DOs and DON'Ts regarding history - stuff about appropriate attitude, obtaining consent, etc. - list of maneuvers and questions that are commonly left out by candidates - sample cases, as many as possible - focus on the SPs "checklist" and point out what they look for, rather than important stuff for the practice of medicine - I am not after improving my "real" clinical skills, but I've been lead to believe that this exam is more like a "drama acting" test, rather than a clinical skills evaluation tool... . Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
