Hi Yulia
I am very happy to hear that you have been matched in Radiology Residency? Can you please share your views about this whole travel, I mean how it was difficult to go through entire process of Residency? I scored 82 in Step 1, and I am appearing in step 2 in june, Please tell me 82 is a good score for Internal Medicine or not, I am worried about my score, Please post your opinion about this.
Good Luck

Dr Gulzeb,

I can't really tell you how good your score is for internal medicine, and no one can. It would depend on what kind of program you are looking to join and what the other circumstances are.
It is impossible to estimate one's chances because every situation is different. BBB explained multiple times that no one can tell you what exactly your chances are. You are the one who has to estimate, because you are the one who knows exactly what your strong and weak points are.
All I can tell you at this point is about my own experience and observations for one particular speciality I applied and interviewed for. Actually, I did interview for preliminary medicine as well, so could share my experience about that as well.

This year has been very stressful, but rewarding at the same time. I spent a lot of time and money to get to this point, but for me it was worth it. I moved to US 5 years ago because my family moved. And almost right away I realized that I needed to pass the exams and become a physician again, because there was nothing else I could or wanted to do. The reason I am telling this is that for me that was the only choice.

So I will not complain about how long, difficult and expensive the process was. There was no other way for me. For someone who is not really sure why they need it, it might not be so easy going through the process.

I am very very happy that everything worked out, and in 5-6 years I will become a practicing physician. I am eternally grateful to my family and friends for their help and support, without it I wouldn't have made it through.

Best of luck to everyone!
