Differentiate hypochondriasis & somatization disorder

It is great if you have example

  #2

Somatization-Pt has MULTIPLE physical complaints AND MULTIPLE ORGAN SYSTEMS ARE USUALY AFFECTED without sufficient organic cause. more common in women usually before age 30.

Hypochondriasis- equally in men and women,-*Exaggerated concern with ones health and illness lasting more then 6 months. Pt goes to different docs seeking help(doctor shopping) more common in middle and old age. (more common in health care workers) Pt has an ureaistic interpertaion of physical signs or sensations as abnormal, leading to the preoccupation with the fear or belief of havinga disease. "Maybe an unconscious desire to assume the sik role" [Not of delusional intensity]

Hope this helps.
