Hi Snoopy..if u r planning to take the exam next year, then it is too early to apply now..you start the application process 6 months before the elegibity period u have choosen..lets say if u r planning to take (January-Feb-March 2006) as elegibilty period then u start applying by July 2005.....
For the books u can study from, there are many sources, best are Kaplan notes and BRS (Board Review Series), but I guess Kaplan notes are the best and if u can afford to take the preparation course at Kaplan centre(8000LE) it will help u alot, if u cannot then u can buy the notes but u will need to make more effort with it...For practicing questions, Kaplan Q-book, Kaplan Q-Bank and NMS will be more than satisfactory...

No problem buddy..Just let me know if u need any thing, we r all brothers and have to help each other. so feel free to ask for any thing. I am here every day..study hard, the exam needs effort, especially for us, cuz it is different than any other exam we ever had in the medical school..
Donot waste ur time in the first reading..read fast then practice questions, so u know the high yield topics and the way the questions asked, then after this read again on the light of the questions u did and try to memorize the high yield facts...then practice questions again in a timed manner, as u r doing the real exam...This is the best way to study!!
try to get the most updated question sources (e.g for example donot practice 1999 q bank or qbook)..
if u donot know where to find the books or any material..let me know!!

Why do u all want to immigrate to the US? I think we need to talk about this point, as I've noticed that a LOT of medical students want to take the USMLE as fast as possible to immigrate.. what do you think?
