Dear friends...we can help each other !
I have finished 1st reading of Psychiatry, Ped, Gyne & Obs and I am reading Int Med at present.
I will take the test in may or jun 2005
Pls join me if you have simillar goals....
Here's my plan :
1.Study material:
Kaplan Lecture notes 2005.
Crush the boards
Step 2 secrets
2.Review materials :
Kaplan Q Book
NMS
UW Q Bank for 2 months from March 15.
We will discuss over the subject we discide to talk on Yahoo Messenger on MON- WED and Fri or,Sat or,Sunday ( 3 times/wk)
No personal matters.
Let's be generous and helpful.Together we can do better if we are motivated by each other.

I'm aiming at late Apr. Here's what I have covered so far:
-Kaplan Seiries, twice (roughly)
-Kaplan Q Bank, once
-Crush, once
When are u going to take the test and how far have u gone? Aren't u going to cover USMLE World?

I will appear in May last week.I am planning to finish my first reading from Kaplan lectures by 15 march from the same day I will start doing UW for 2 months.
I will do Kaplan Q Book but not the Q Bank ,for Q Bank I will stick to WU...I guess 2 month will be fine .
What about NBME r u doing that at the end ?
When u think we should do questions from the NBME cd we got ?

Hey josh_2005.I am more or less in the same situatin as u r.Do u thin one reading is enuf cz I don't remember much.I was thinking of aquick 2nd reading(imp stuff in last 2 weeks of march) b 4 UW.and start UW from 1st of Apr for a mo----> test in may.Wat do u think of that

Dear Himadi I am planning to do my second review with UW althouth I have not planned how I would go ahead with UW and Kaplan Lectures...but reviewing the lectures in the morning and doing questions an reviews after 5 pm should be ok ...pls suggest !
Dear Loreal U R welcome pls don't doubt.Just let us know what u r doing now and how are planning grossly.
Dear friends let us first grossly plan our studies.I have already listed materials I am using.I request evrybody to list what matrials are being using and how the study hrs are being mannaged.Which timezone we belong to so that to arrange a suitable time for on line disscussion

i am right now reviewing kaplan lecture notes and planning ot do kaplan q
than i will do nms and some pretest qs
in the end will do uw and nbme :_online_:
right now i dont recall much neither when i do revision or doing mcqs
so still i have to work hard
for reviewing i only plan to do kaplan books and concentrate on mcqs and thier explanantion
i am married so making a plan is tough since i got married recently
i need help and advice how to ace in exam :icon_king:
so help is always appreciated so thak you josh :lol:
plz do let me know if i need to add anything beside what i mentioned :icon_heh:

Dear josh_2005,Thank for ur in put.I hink it is a good idea to do kaplan with uw.In my case I cannot do much in last 2 weeks of march cz my kids wud be off foe 2 and 1/2 week.Probably I revise as much as i can and then I'll start uw in Apr.
Material taht iam using is Kaplan notes, Qbook and qbank and I'll finish it up with UW.I do have FA but i don't think I'll do that I wud rather revise kaplan than reading something new.Let's keep each other updated.that wud be a good motivation.Did not study in last 4 days but hopefuly tomorrow wud be a new start.

For March 8 I have plan to finish reading Emergency Medicine ...thats all.
Everyone pls post your plan for the week so that at the end of the week we can review what we did plan and how much we could finish.
I am planing to finish Internal medicine by Friday the 11th then will do Internal med Q from Q Book .On Sat the 12th I am thinking of doing questions from all subjects random simulation exam from NMS Q bank !
What are your suggestions ?
Some thoughts :
"Pls track eachother so that not to be distracted.If we plan it means we really intend to do it.How much we can finish depends on the motivation and oncomming distractors.The gretest distractor are we ourself.So let's motivate ourself"

Friends lets fix a time for our first meeting...we'll just talk our goals and how we're putting our efforts on it.
May be we need some modification on how we are studing or we may help others for the same puspose.
Let's make our sessions short in the begining ...what do u think ?

hi josh and others,
here is a suggestion for a suitable time, day and medium for discussion
Time:4 pm western time which will be same as 7 pm eastern time and 6 pm central time. I hope this time takes care of time zones for everybody.
Day: I suggest that the best day for discussion is thursday, as it is preferable not to schedule on a weekend as most of us may have other chores during weekends. I think by thursday we would have studied something during the week and will be ready to discuss
Medium: We can chat on this forum step 2 chat room itself, as all of us have an id on this forum and all we need to do is just log in. Some of us may or may not have a yahoo messenger id and some of us may have a different id on other media.
Subjects and topics: I don't have any major opinion on this as any subject suits me fine at this point of time (i have just completed a single reading of all subjects) and so i request others to please suggest whatever is best for them
All this is only a suggestion and anybody who thinks differently is welcome to state their opinions
josh, thanks for co-ordinating. hope we start our step 2 targetted discussion soon and claim success in the exam

When I try and log in to any chat session it tells me I need Java and I can't seem to configure that on my computer - it gives me a incompatability message everytime I try and dnload.
What am I doing wrong?
