During a hunting trip, a young man is bitten by a coyote. The animal is captured and brought to the authorities alive. Which of the following is the most important criterion to determine the patient's need for rabies prophylaxis?
1The patient's history of previous immunizations
2The patient's clinical course over the next few weeks
3Observing the animal's behavior over the next few days
4Killing the animal and examining the brain
5The events that took place have already established the need to proceed with rabies immunization

I think itīs 4, because itīs a non-domestic animal and you can kill it to do a definitive diagnostic.
