I missed the "English Patient" also - I have seen bits here and there, but never fancied the whole movie.
My favorite romance movies are obscure English films.
"Letters to Brezhnv" - Alexandra Pigg and Peter ...... oh I forgot his last name. Also, I like "Shirley Valentine" for a good love story.
Classics? "Out of Africa" is really good, "African Queen" (Bogart and Hepburn), and "Casablanca".
