hopefully. Hey guys, can I join the journal forum? I just scheduled my exam today for March 30. There's a test center really close to my house about 10 min. away. You know whats strange, I saw mar. 31 available and I already chose it but....I wanted to verify that I was choosing the correct test center(cuz I'm paranoid like that) so I hit backspace on my cpu. When I went back to the calandar, mar. 31 was gone. So now I'm taking it mar. 30. Scarryyyyyyy

Thanks for the great welcome to the forum. I hope you all best of luck on the exam. I've been praying for an easy test and I hope that mar. 30 is the day! I'm using a 2002 kaplan lecture note set. I sort of tripped out when I first started studying for this thing and I should of just used the entire kaplan set but I didn't use the pathology or anatomy book. I'm using Rapid Review from Goljan and HY neuro and HY anatomy. So this is what I'm using: path: Rapid review (3) micro: kaplan (3), micro made simple (1) pharm: kalan (4) biochem: kaplan (1) BS: kaplan (2) physio: kaplan (1) Anatomy: HY (2) Neuro: HY (2) Embryo: FA (hope this isn't a mistake) (0) Histo: kaplan (2) (#) --> indicates the number of times I've read thru that book I guess I based the readings on what I thought I was going to be hit with most of on the exam and what subjects were most important and what I was stronger with I read less. Qs I've done so far: NMS (600) = 76% random Webpath (1500) = 74% Qbank (550) = 74% subject wise BSS (2000) = did not tally, did them long time ago subject wise I'm planning to just read thru all the books I have over again 2 more times and do the corresponding Qbook questions, finish qbank, nmbe1/2, blackwell, and possibly do the IV bank. To niti: All my tests are timed, and I'm in a constant dilema of whether to keep reading or doing questions. I'm actually pretty excited again! Micro has always been my weakest subject (failed the final exam) in med school (that an embryo) so I worked really put some work on it. I did 100 Qbook micro questions last night and got 85%. I'm putting micro away for now. Today I think I'm going to behavioral again! thanks again for having me on the forum

Hi Berkelyboy Welcome to Diary World. Congratulations on booking the date. Two more months to go - you can get quite a few more readings done by then. And your NMS and QBank marks are already good. Best of luck, Moc P.S. What does your signature 'M3 SGU' mean?

Hi Berk, Thanks for the reply..its great that u practiced your tests in timed mode..bec. I still have to struggle with this ! About revision or doing Qs...at the last moment...I feel that quick revision of HY areas r more imp....along with Goljan's audios ( in your case..it should be like this way..bec u already secured good % of marks in Qs )..this is just my opinion..but, do what u feel better..bec. that will be the rt ans. P 4 wks will pass quickly...& I am sure that the March/30 will be YOUR LUCKIEST DAY... Keep Up.. niti

I think my micro score is only high because I really hit micro hard since knew it was my worst subject in medschool. I did micro cards, read micro made easy, and read kaplan like 3 times. I wish I could say the same thing for the other subjects. I've almost read thru Behavioral again and am planning to do Qbook questions and Qbank questions tonight. A friend of mine who scored over 90 said to do the questions by subject because you can accurately gage what subjects you are weak in. I'm going to take his advice since I've been taking his advice all throughout medical school and its worked great since. Just woke up from a nap, but ready to finsih behavioral and do some questions!! :icon_cyclop:

Hmm...I am really thankful to be the part of such a supportive group..without it..nothing was possible for me..still a long road ahead..but .. Keep going everybody.. D Good Luck.. niti

a friend of mine told me to (who scored over 90) do questions subject wise. It sort of makes sense, it reinforces what you just read over. Everyone says that the real usmle is nothing like the practice questions we do so I guess the subject wise approach makes sense in that the questions we do is only a learning tool. I do find that when I do questions random, when I read the answers, my mind is all over the place. That said, I finished my third read of behavioral in two days. Did 100 Qbook behavioral Qs and got 74% Behavioral has always been kind of random for me...I always have a hard time deciding b/n two choices that sound perfectly acceptable. I guess thats why I was 1 piont away from getting a C in ethics and juris...

hey Berkeleyboy I think it makes sense to do questions subject wise, it also gives you more confidence about your knowledge, I am also doing that, qs in the morning and at nights related to the topic or subject I am reading. I am glad I got physiology qbank because it is helping a lot now with the physiology review Keep it up boy and have a great study time :icon_study: Roxy.

I'm so glad that you guys told me to do questions. I love this diary land. you get great opinions so quickly! I was getting pretty down about my 60%Qbank set of 50Q this morning especially since I was on my 3rd revision of behavioral and I had just done 100Q from Qbook last night and got 74/100. Actually the 60% didn't piss me off that much. It was the break down. In that set of 50Q my biostat score was like 76% and the behavioral score was 52%. I decided to not go on and move to biochemistry as I had planned for today. Thanks to you guys!!! I did 250Q on BSS today, scored around 74%. After that I did a set of 50Q again on qbank strictly behavioral and my score jumped to 78%. Thanks for the advice guys....the BSS questions really helped me raise my behavioral score quick! <:flag:> <:flag:>

Hey Berk Thanks for the entries! How are you doing? Working your way through questions? You've made a great start to biostats and behavioural sciences. Actually, I've got the same problem - have been through HY biostats and feeling quite good about that, but need to work on behavioural sci. What source are you goign to use for it? All the best Berk, Moc

Biochem. It took 2 whole days to read and I did questions on the thrid day. Qbook 85/100 Qbank 74/100 I'm starting to think that Qbook is easier than Qbank. What does anyone else think? I've decided that if I read a subject and do Qbook and Qbank questions and get 70-80s. I'm moving on....if not I'm hitting up BSS. Moving on to physiooooooo
