It is a humanized monoclonal antibody against the fusion protein (F Protein) of RSV. Indicated for RSV infection prevention in high risk infants (15mg/kg IM monthly during RSV season -typically November through April) for up to 5 doses.

The coomon side effects observed in the post marketting surveillance period were-
hypersensitivity raections : dyspnea, cyanosis, respiratory failure, urticaria, pruritus, angioedema, hypotonia and unresponsiveness and none of these were fatal.
