Hello I am the wife of a Candian Citizen who is s IMG, I have just recieved his marks for the Step 2 CK and he got 194/79, I know it is not what he was wanting but is this a good or a bad score. I will be talking to him tonight via phone and am very nervous telling him his score. Any Help with this is MUCH Appreciated. TIA

The ans depends on lots of factors.This not an absolute superb scoer( excuse me for saying that,but I beleive u want the truth) and on the other hand he has passed and that is all what matters.
Ppl usually say u need high score to get residency but I know a lot of ppl who got residency even after passing marginally.there are a lot of prog that don't req absolute high score.
It also depend what speciality he wants to go for.If he want to go for int med,paeds etc, he is ok but not for surgery.
I hven't done any search on this matter bu his is all I got froms others exp (friends and friends on forums).I have read alot of time that
PASS=Residency.I beleive with God's help and his own efforts he stands good chance.
Botto line is go ahead tell him and celebrate.Passing any step is a big step towards residency.I hope it helped
