hi nvs,
i will be an img too......actually i am a student and hv been studying for a while, my target is july .... as i hv yet to appear in my 4th yr exams i am trying to put it all together stpe by step.....rite now i m concentrating more on physiology,micro & pathology...trying to correalate as much as possible ...also a little of pharmacology too....rest i'll start from next month.
So,wht particlur strategy are u planning to hook up with.... i mean subject wise.....
Any advice will be highly appreciated.

I booked the may/june/july slot.I am feeling kind of lost how to organize and revise everything well before exam.Hope to hear a good study plan from you guys.I am ready to do prep in both ways..subject or systemwise..

hi,
i started studin this month and i would love to join u guys i started with gross anatomy and im almost done with it , although i dont plan on takin the test in june or july but some where by the end of thid yr and i would love to go thorough all the subjects atleast once or twice till may, so count me in and let me know about the schedual.

Thanks for joining this group.We can encourage each other.
Well, upto june we have 4 months.So, I think we try to finish 75% of our 1st reading on march 25th in a 1 month period.I'll start my studies on 25th.I think you all finished atleast some readings already.So, it will be easier for you to cover each subjects soon.
This is my plan:
1st reading from 25th Feb to March 25th:I don't know whether it is possible or not.But, we all must try our best.
Feb 25th,26th: physiology .
Another thing we try to listen Dr.Goljan audio lectures: 1 lecture/ day.If we don't understand anything we can help each other.
So, on 25th 26th: Day 1 audio lectures: 1 & 2
I'll post remaining schedule later.So there will be 4 days for each subject until 25th March.According to our progress we'll plan the remaining 3 months.Is this plan ok for you all?
When we study by heart everything is possible.Lets do it together.
Waiting for your suggesstions.....................

Hello nvs,
We can do a lot in one month as we have already finished some reading part .Still, we need schedule if we are going to discuss in a group?My suggestion:
We can set a whole wk. for particular subject and study by their own way ( qs or theory revision )and then meet online at set time for discussions ?
If you can post a whole study schedule, it will be more useful ?
Everybody is welcome to post their suggestions about step 1 revision in 4-6 wks.

The problem for me is that I don't have Goljan audios. Hope this will not be an obstacle..
What will you read for text?
Regarding the meeting style.. I'll go with the everyday meeting, because there will be more commitment to time, thus no "hang around" time will be available for us => better performance.. Also it will make the subject of discussion more specific => more concentrated discussions. In addition it will allow us to digest each bite before going for the next, and that will speed up our progress. This is my opinion, but I'll go with any style you choose.
Regarding the schedule, I think 4 days is not enough for each subject. Some sizable subjects like physio, patho, pharma, needs at least 1 week - 10 days to be barely finished. Are you ok with this??
Anyway, thanks a lot everybody, and let's organise and start as soon as possible..

well i agree with js about havin a wk plan n then a discussin session , i was thinkin may be on the wk end or daily ,
n dani is right that 4 days does not seem enough for a sub specially like physio , path or pharma , atleast 10 -15 days mini sp for path.
i would like to know wat source rest of the ppl r goin to use bcoz i do have goljan audio lectures , but i havnt used them yet,

Here is my suggested plan for pharma..
1st day: introduction to pharma (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, pharmacokinetics and dynamics)..
2nd day: drugs of autonomic nervous system
3rd day: drugs of CNS (Parkinson, anxiolyics, antidepressants, anasthetics....etc.)
4th day: drugs of CVS
5th day: drugs of other systems (respiratory, GIT, endocrine, and diuretics) (They are few compared to the systems above)
6th day: Chemotherapeutic drugs (mechanisms and antibiotics)
7th day: Chemotherapeutic drugs (anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-protozoal, anti-helmintic)
8th day: Chemotherapeutic drugs (anti-cancer, inti-inflammatory, autocoids)
9th day: general review, and exams sample questions (please all contribute).. (to discover and concentrate on our weak areas in the final day for pharma)
10th day: final general review and sample questions.
And hopfully the pharma should be pretty much finished in 10 days..
By the way, I depended on Lippincott's pharma in the schedule, but I don't think it will be a problem if anybody is using a different source.
I need to hear from you guys.. What do you think?
Hopfully we should start executing it starting from 25 Feb.. And may be we can repeat it when we review the pharma later (after we finish all subjects)

Hi......id like to be in too....n i like dani's idea....really helps to keep pace if u have a schedule to work with...... n i also like the idea of daily meetings....btw i cudnt figure out how and at what time u guys would be gettin together...so plz tell me that....n a suggestion that i think would help us is that whenever anyone comes across sumthing that he/she wants to discuss...he should write it down...try to formulate a question or sumthing...and do it when ur readin...dont make a mental note of it and try to bring it up later....so i'll be workin with dani's plan... :|

I am doing the same regarding the questions..
Tomorrow is for autonomic system. The time will be: 5:30 PM GMT or 17:30 GMT.. (that is 12:30 PM eastern I think)
