1- ur condition might be serious but we have to run a few tests to better understand what's going on. we have an exellent team of doctors and nurses to help u get through this. 2- i know how upsetting this must be for u but it's very important that i ask u a few more questions and do a proper physical exam to better understand what's going on. then i'll certainly give u something for the pain. 3- depends on the test. ekg: no Mr.., it just involves putting some adhesive tape on ur chest. LP: u might feel a bit uncomfortable, but it's a very important test and it's over quickly. try and keep ur answers in the same format , makes it easier. good luck

A few more queries. Do we have to ask SP to bend knees prior to abdominal exam? Do we have to use transitional statements in telephone encounter?

Always try and do it the right way especially if it doesn't take up much time: 1- On the usmleworld video of an abdominal exam the patient is asked to bend his knees to relax his ab muscles just before palpation. (after inspection, auscultation and percussion). Nothing's mentioned about it in the kaplan cs book. Better do it , it takes about 2 secs. 2-u'll very rarely need 15 min to complete a tel interview, as there is no physical exam. always use transitional phrases
