Dude, If you can make it into a residency in the usa,i dont think u`ll ever regret it for the rest of your life.Remember that. But,having said that, its one heck of a long process with a lot of pitfalls, which you should look out for,on the way.It takes a fair amount of time and a lot of planning as well. But you have to make up your mind whether you want to put yourself through that. Regarding the visa, yes there are a lot of rejections for docs especially. No single reason really. The good news is if you are persistent enough you`ll eventually get one.I know a guy who`s visa got rejected 7 times!!and he got it the eighth time. The bad news is it takes a lot of time in the interim. So if you are prepared to slug it out, there`s no reason why you should`nt realise your dream.it`s not impossible,at best it can be very difficult. Cheers.

Getting a visa is awfully hard ecspecially if you're from the Middle-east or south asian countries like Nepal,India,Pakistan,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Due to this worries I am having doubts of giving USMLE. 5 of my classmates were refused visas.....one of whom had 99 for stp 1 and 97for step 2 just 4months ago.Its an awful expereince. Getting visa on the 8th time!! Wow....but I must remind you that even if you do somehow get visas to go to US for CS....there are chances you may be refused visa when you apply for J1 or H1 after being offered a post. Some people whom I know go to US via UK after clearing PLAB and working in UK for some time. After all some programmes do recognize UK clinical expereince. Then there are those who give GRE exams and join a Master's programme or research project.I do not know the details on this though.
