I read in a recent article of U.S. News and World Report that currently, the R.O.A.D. to happiness is Radiology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, and Dermatology..In other words, these are the current residencies sought after by American grads..and as most of us in this forum know, IMG's come second to American grads. BUT..score high in your steps, have good credentials, LOR's and most importantly, do well on your interviews and you will be able to get in.

If you can't get in anesthesia on your first attempt, you could always go for FP or IM preliminary then go for anesthesia.
