Promethazine used in Pre-operative sedation
Droperidol associate with fentanyl in neuroleptic Anesthesia

Any one can explain their mechanisms ?

Promethazine inhibits histamine induced contraction of GI and resp. muscle. I also inhits lacrimal salivary and bronchial secretions which could make it useful during preop. (Antagonizes H1)Its also a local anaesthetic.

Droperidol=blocks dopamine.(Ill return with more info)

OK, Antidopaminergic will block pain
