Was trying to simplify the calculation of #of ATP produced from the complete metabolism of a FA, and have come up with a simple formula that I can memorize for the big day:
Even #FA: [17*X/2]-7
Odd #FA: [17*X-3/2]+3
X=number of carbon atoms in the FA
*=multiplication
I'm pretty sure that the formula for the even #FA works perfectly. Not so sure about the one for Odd #FA....please try them out and let me know if they work.[/i][/list]
