Hi all,

I am an img based in india.I want to apply for a b1/b2 visa to take my step 2 cs.I`ve a few questions i want answered.

1.Should i apply for a B1/B2 for business or for Pleasure?
2.In the local us contact phone/adress, should i mention ecfmg or my personal contacts in the us?

It would be really helpful if soemone could shed some light on this, because i`m lost,or if anyone`s already adressed this issue,it would be great if someone told me where its posted.

Cheers Guys,

hi there! What I have also is a tourist visa right now. I applied from the philippines last dec. It doesnt really matter if B1 or B2 because it is the same category and they will be the ones to decide. Just put B1/B2 because you will be coming over for a business purpose but at the same your are also here for pleasure purposes because it is your 1st time here and you will be looking around the country after the exam (CS).

just state your contacts here in the US if you are planning to live with a relative or a friend. They will understand that. I hope I was a help to your concerns! Good luck!

to gerogemd,

hi! im also in the philippines. im about to finish my internship at PGH. i just wanna ask how you went about the visa application. what documents did you present? did you present land titles, bank accounts, etc? and also, at what point in the USMLE/matching process were you when you were interviewed? did you already have the scores of both steps 1 and 2? thanks.

HI, this trishue.. well, it's controversial in Manila on how you have to do the VISA app for the US but they have a 1-800 # you can dial so that you know for sure that you're getting the right info, i suggest you visit the US embassy Philippines website, they have pretty much all the info you need and #s to call for assistance, my mom even downloaded the APP from the net.. you can do it early if you want
