Is colchicine a drug that we might get tested on? I have heard that whenever you see it in the exam just ignore it...it should not be picked as an answer. Is that true?

It depends, there is no single rule to answer qs in the test, so just see the case and answer it depending on the situation. I think we still use it in acute conditions for short time till the patient no longer can tolerate it. You know this is the most effective drug for acute gout except for the side effects...... i think. BUT if there is indomethacin as an option for the answer, then probably we should pick that, so then again it depends on the situation.

Thank you ELM. I agree with you on indometh. Now, If the pt has PUD and gout then must go for Colchicine. Or there is any other alternatives?

If you know the concepts and did read at least little bit you usually get the right answers by excluding the distractors while you answering the qs  so we thank God for the options that are given! What i think good for picking the right choices is do as many qs as you can and after that you usually able to pick the right answers many times just by excluding!!! Bad trick, but seems working most of the time for most people. So good luck on good guessing to all of us!
