true... i have heard people say.. if u have passed u will get a residency.. so forget abt past and focuss on future

Its a huge relief to learn that. I got 76 step 1, second attempt :oops: Iam now freaked out for step2. but do have US citizenship, would that help in the end?

You will get a residency if you can pass the exam.I think if you're looking for fields like surgery and orthopaedics,ENT,Radiology,Opthalmology thats when marks become more important. I've been told for A&E,Internal medicine,Paeds.....while marks are important but not a whole lot as the above competitive fields.

Your US citizenship helps in that you can apply to more programs because some programs do not sponsor visas. The second attempt will hurt you though, because some programs do not interview applicants with multiple attempts. Also, some programs have a minimum score required which can be from 80 to 85. If you were raised in the US and are familiar with the culture and have no problem communicating, that will help you with your CS and interviews.
