1) At the initiation of therapy with this drug ,most patients experience a flu -like syndrome. Its clinical uses include the tretment of kaposi's sarcoma,hairy cell leukemia and genital warts.

2) This thymidine analog has excellent oral bioavailability.Its major dose-limiting toxicity is peripheral sensory neuropathy.

3) 90% of this drug is excreted in the urine in intact form.Because its urinary solbuility is low,patients should be well hydrated to prevent nephrotoxicity
