I am a US citizen IMG who got 76 on step 1. Its a really bad score, I just need to know how bad.....I am now preparing for step 2. Do i stand a chance in this years 2004 match? If so does anyone know any family practice or internal medicine programs that are IMG friendly?? :roll:

too be frank,the score is a low one.but you have the advantage of not needing a visa.so programs look at you in a different way.i would so you would have to do some extra work like an observership or research to boost your CV.just remember that almost all get into residency,its just a question of time and perseverance.

well right now i am doing an observership at a local clinic. But I have no research as such....what are my chances now?? I am hoping to do better on step 2, people say that the family practice programs are easy to get in to, is this true? if so, more in the community setting or urban?
