My friends, I just knew that I failed step 2 with a score of 71. What should I do? I spent 3 months on step2 materials.

I have not taken step 1. Should I start to review step1 instead of step 2? But I am afraid of forgetting what are still in my memorry.

Please give me some advice.

i also failed step 2 with the same grade as you. my suggestion? take step 2 ck again... but also buy FIRST AID for STEP 1. Some of the questions in my STEP 2 exam were not found in either Crush the Boards for STEP 2 or First AID for STEP 2 CK but in First Aid for Step 1.

hi, r753_2000, sorry to hear that. When will you take your step 2? Have you taken step 1?

yeah, i passed step 1 but failed step 2. taking it again in may.

do you think it helps significantly if you already passed step 1? i am kinda struggling right now and losing the direction. i hope i have the same strength as you to take it in several months. good luck, my friend.

I guess i have to take a break for 3 months because I am unable to study right now. Anyone has a good way to help me to get started again? I suddenly find I am so weak in my whole life. ouch!

Cheer up...things will be ok.
Take a rest like a couple of weeks and then get up, stand up again -work hard and stay healthy focus on step 2. Review all Kaplan notes and do tones of qs. You will do well , everything is possible and failure is never final.

Thank you, Jsmart! I believe that you are a smart person. Have you finished your step 1? Should I start step 1 materials or continue on step 2 matierals?

I recommend you look at the performance profile that you get on your score report, and see what areas you were most weak in. On your next round of studying, focus on these weak areas, not on areas you are already comfortable with. I failed the first time too, with a 74 (one point below), and then I retook it and got an 83. So cheer up, take a few days off to clear your head, then get back into it. Good luck!

maqsur, cool.

I have looked at my weak areas and will review them as you have suggested.

The questions that I have for you are
1. did you take the step1 before step 2? Should I take step 1 before step 2?
2. how long did you spend to retake the step 2 after first attempt?
3. it seems that you are a resident now. are you busy?

Thanks for your information and encouragement.

thank you all. I have restarted my step 2 preparation. At the same time, I read pathology also. I am not sure if it is right or not. But at least I am getting started. I am not sure how long it will take for me to finish the 2nd run of preparation. Anyone has the similar situation to share?
