on gross anatomy quize test scors of 10,10,10,70,40,20 and 90 obtain by seven students?
what will be median?

  #2

pls also explain me also.

  #3

Ans 20 (median )

10 ,10, 10, 20, 40, 70, 90.

Point that divides the group is called median.

  #4

Median means central value of any figure-----
If median is odd then there is no problem as mentioned in this Qs.
If median is even then 1st get mean of two central value.
Eg:
1)Odd. 10,10,10,70,40,20,90 in this mean is 70
2)Even. 10,10,70,40,20,90. in this mean is 55.
I think it is clear now. smiling face grin 8)
If i am wrong plz explain it????

  #6

mean- average
mode -most frequent
median- middle#

mean- the sum total of all those #s /7.

In biostatistic talk mean is =epsilonX divided byN or 50th percentile

mode is 10(not influenced by extremes)

**Since its not listed in order there is no median
If listed in order medan is 20

  #7

arrange in Ascending or Descending Order for the median.

This is an example.
When there is an odd number of numbers, the median is simply the middle number. For example, the median of 2, 4, and 7 is 4.

When there is an even number of numbers, the median is the mean of the two middle numbers. Thus, the median of the numbers 2, 4, 7, 12 is (4+7)/2 = 5.5.

Hope this helps.

  #8

so do we arrange it in an ascending or descendign order or not? one of u arranged it and the other didn't, one got 70 and the other 20.

  #9

for median it must be in ascending or descending order!
