sorry buddy i kinda mixed up here! if ext.oblique muscle acts unilaterally it abducts and rotates......but i amn not sure which of the movements are gonna be executed upon bilateral activation. :shock:

--lateral flexion of trunk is done by one side action of oblique muscles. --Flexion is mainly done by rectus abdominus M --Rotation is produced by combined action of external oblique & opposite internal oblique. ---activation of both E.O--->depress & compress lower thorax---> forcefull expiration,coughing,sneezing,blowing etc.
