hi,
i am very new on this forum and have just started filling my application for USMLE. Could any one plz. take some time and trouble and help me with this problem:
The name of my med. college is Sind Medical College and the medical degree has been issued by University of Karachi, so what name do I use? My Medical College name does not appear on the degree, but is printed on the transcripts.
I wonder if some one will help me out?

The following information is available in IMED:
Medical school name
Name of the university with which the medical school is affiliated (if applicable)
Medical school address, telephone/fax numbers and email address
Medical school website address
Former official names of the medical school (if applicable)
Degree title (title of the medical degree currently awarded by the medical school or university)
Graduation years, which are calendar years the medical school has been recognized by the government agency in the country where the school is located. Graduation years for many schools begin in 1953, although individual medical schools may have been recognized prior to that date.
Year instruction began
Language of instruction
Duration of the curriculum
Entrance examination requirement
Eligibility of foreign (non-national) students
Total enrollment
You have to enter the name of the medical college(exactly as it appears on their database :

write sindh medical college.......
by the way there is a separate column for university name (if applicable)
in your case it wud be university of karachi
degree does'nt include the name of ur college...does'nt matter it's in their database

hi
i am a medical student of fourth yr....done with the basics and waitying for my fourth yr exams scheduled for next month......
well i am more or les prepared for the step1....the only subjects tht i still hv to deal with are biochem/genetics,anatomy & behavioural sciences....so planned to get thru them after the exams...i am applying for july-sept slot in a coupla of days time
well i am looking forward in reveiwing the subjects with someone (for eg. solving mcq's from q-bank & stuff)
