hello everybody..
i am knew on this site..
i gave my step 1 yesterday ..
i was not sure of many questions and a lot of my answers were guesses..
only a few were a sure correct.
and to add to that i got a lot of research oriented mouse and graphs bullshit. which i prayed to not get ...
i know many feel this way after this test... but i dont have a good feeling about my performance... hope i get lucky ofcourse..
i came to know of the nbme late..
and i got 360 once and 390 another time..
and then it was too late to postpone // i took the test.
how accurate is the nbme .. ??
will i get lucky or will i fail ..
i took qbank for a month and finished 80 percent of it.. i had a 65 % average..
and i studied kaplan only.. nothing else..
went thro fa before the exam for pharmac mainly..
i hate thinking about retaking this stupid test.. but i also dont want to get a low bad score..
what should i do .. i am feeling so helpless and lonely ... because of my insecurity.
please help friends..

I CHECKED OASIS.. BY APPLYING AGAIN FOR STEP ONE..
AND IT OPENED UP ANOTHER APPLICATION FOR ME.. SO I AM GUESSING I FAILED..
BUT I WROTE THE EXAM ONLY ONE WEEK AGO..
IS THE OASIS ACCURATE OR DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR A WHILE..
PLEASE EXPLAIN ANYONE.. VERY TENSE..

Hey Jessica,
Like you, I wrote my exam a week ago and I just checked Oasis. There has not been any update on my score test date or report date. Both are still blank. As long as those are blank I think you are safe. Even if, indeed, you can reapply, there is always a possibility that it is a mistake.

Jesica and Bummer,
The USMLE trick works only when OASIS is updated. Not before that. It is updated on the first Thursday morning after about 21 days of your exam. If you go to score report on oasis, it should show your test date and date of posting the result. If that is so, try to apply and then the trick works.
I tried to apply on Thursday morning at 12:10 am but oasis was not updated and it let me do it. Again at 3:30 am when it was updated it did not allow. So, enjoy and relax.

Hi, Bummer,
First wish the best luck for your exam. I wrote it on Jan 31, the same day as yours, right? Interestingly, one of the Qs you described appeared in mine too. Have you done any analysis from the recall? I am not really familiar with OASIS trick, would be glad if you had any instruction for me.

that's really interesting. Which question are you referring to? We can see if it matches. There is one question that my friend had on her exam too. BS question. Kinda screwewd upa too. Thinking it's one of those trial questions.

Man I feel like both of us had the same exam.Mine was a total nightmare and I really did bad acc to myself.I didnt do any nbme questions,just did qbank about 80% thats it and I wasnt even scoring myself in that.Lets hope we get lucky and God helps us through..Dont worry..not until your result atleast. :?

i checked the oasis today ... because it is my 4th week since i gave the exam.. and the score has been reported.
and i am so happy that it said .. i passed the exam ... therefore cannot take it again.
but i am so tense more then ever that i might have a very low passing score...
how bad is a "bad passing score." ??? i just hope i am above 85... i am praying for this..
