Hi all:

I just cleared the three steps required to get the ECFMG certificate, last test was Step 2 CS, results received january 14, I received a letter a few months ago asking me for a school transcript with officila tranlslation, which I haven't done yet, cause I am here in USA, so I am planning to go back to my country and get the transcript from my school to send it to them, my question is: when I am suposed to received a letter stating that I am now eligible for a ECFMG certificate??? or do I have to call them to let them know that I am done with the tests?.
I am a little concerned because it's been almost 3 weeks since I got the results of my last test and I haven't heard nothing from them.

thank you very much for your help

as far as i know. u wont be eligible to receive yr certificate unless yr transcript is verified by the ecfmg just like yr degree.Just call the ecfmg and confirm this. can u get someone from yr medschool to fax the transcript to them? just an idea

I agree, since eligibility requierments also include medical credential verification you have to complete every step before getting your certification.. I was in the same situation, I could not have chance to go back to my country for taking care for all that stuff, but months ago one of my friends took care for all those papers, and took them from my med school instead of me. Just do the same way, and make your school to prepare and send them as fast as they can. Because it takes 2-6 months ECFMG to verify them.
Good luck.

I really appreciate your help guys, I will follow your advices, and will make haste to get the things ready for the next match cause I guess with the time thay take to verify (2 to 6 months) it would be imposible to try to participate in this year match.
