I confuse between A & C, anyone helps to clarify it ?

I always thought of atrophy as being the opposite process to hypertrophy, and so it means that there is a decrease in the size of individual cells (like in human muscle atrophy). Then again, we talk about atrophy of the thymus in adulthood and that involves cell death, right?

So I'm confused too, but I think C is right.
