Hi all. sorry if im repeating stuff here...stiill new here =) Just aa few Qs for ya. Hope u can help me with this. Is a non us citizen/PR IMG disadvantaged in any way compared to local US grads in terms of residency placements or does it depend entirely on marks, interviews, CV etc? Also, how hard is it to get a green card and when woould be the best time to do it? thanks!!!!

well I would not have agreed with you two months back but today I must admit it is so. I have 99 and 93 and have very strong cv ,recommendations and despite of this fact I have been called to interview by just 8 residencies after applying ot 40 residencies

Yes u do have to realise that the inherent desire of any program is to have local candidates..not just US citizens but even better if they are from the same med school..that gives them an assurance as to what they are getting...so definitely being an IMG..is always a second choice for them..only then they will even look at your scores.
