My exam is in 4 weeks and just got a 300 on NBME. I have been using kaplan notes 2002 for all subjects, FA, Goljan audio, Qbook and FA questions on valuemd. I am so scared now. I thought I was on the right tract, but I guess not. I did not have the money for qbank, but now I have to find a way to get qbank for a month. I just need some info on the best way to target this exam. I have to pass this exam.

I did manage to get q-bank (50% completed so far with avr 66%). I am doing my last review now. I would like to know if I should go ahead and take NBME 2 or if I should retake the first one again since my score was so low (300). My exam is in 3 weeks.
Also, what qbank avr is considered safe for passing?

Kerochi: I can't afford the video lectures now. Even Qbank was not easy to get...that;s why I just started using it now.

I am still preparing for the exam...but I have a point of view in regards to parctice questions..most of people think that just practicing questions will make them do well in the exam, however, in my opinion practicing question is just a way to integrate what u have already studied, make things organized all together in ur mined and of course giving u the topics in different formats...The NBME has 350,000 questions in there database...u cannot cover all these questions even if u did all the available source, so the best way is to use these questions as a way to make every thing organized in ur mind, so however the way they will ask u, if have an understanding of the facts in order, u will answer it...Keep this attitude when practicing questions and go back to ur notes whenever u need to integrate every thing together and u will be OK..best wishes!!!

hi nadjy,
Good luck on your test in 3 weeks... If you have seen the topics on exam exp. most of them passed w/ qbank scores bet 75-77% but I would suggest for you to take the NBME as everyone suggested.. Good luck!!
If you would still have the time I will give you my extra step 1 bonus items free.. let me know if ever you R/S your test..

that sounds a bit high to me. maybe to get a 99 on the exam, that might be the average Qbank cumulative score.

Hi, I got a 300 on form 1 on NBME and decided to postpone my exam (this was last year), so I would recommend that you postpone it..Are you able to do that?
In the meantime, just keep doing lots of questions, finish qbank (random questions) and reviewing material...then take form 2 of nbme. Form 2 is harder so your score might be lower....then you can take form 1 a few weeks later.....
But, your qbank score seems pretty good......
keep trying!

I want to thank you all for your answers.
I am not doing good (I have the flu for the second time). Now I come down with a bad sore throat, cough, and conjuctivitis.
I don't know what to do b/c I can barely do questions since the light makes my eyes hurt even more.
My exam is on the 29 of this month and my eligibility ends on the 31st of march. I would like to know if it is possible to postpone my exam past the 31st. If yes, please tell me how much it cost and how to do it.
I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else b/c it affects everything. I have been studying and now that I am so close to the end... oh well!!!
Good luck studying guys and do your best while you can.

hi nadji !
what i know is that you can change dates of exam only within the eligibility period but if anyone want to change it outside the eligibility period you have to submit the whole application fee with new application(according to information in FA).
so make your decision wisely.good luck .

you also can apply to extend the elegibility period for 3 more months
