HELLO EVERYBODY..

I AM A IMG ..
I GAVE MY STEP 1 TODAY..
I AM FEELING MISERABLE.
i felt the exam was hard.. there was too much pharmacology and graphs and calculations which i hate.. and i felt the questions were nothing like the qbank...

there were few in every block that i knew the answer and was sure..
there were many which i was confused or doubtful or had no idea at all..
there were so many questions i felt had the material that i had been studying in kaplan.. but i felt the questions were a of a little higher level in knowledge or atleast more confusing in form.
is this my study failure.. or is it just my luck to get hard questions..
now i am feeling miserable that i pass with a very low score or fail..
because i am truly not interested in studying for this exam again.
did anyone go thro what i am going thro..

anything anybody wants to say might help to cheer up for me...
thanks in advance.
hope it does not happen to you people.
all the best.

Hey cheer up. My exam was inundated with pcl too and mby. a lot of graphs and most of them were drug mech related. very weird. i think they are trying out new exams. maybe we hit the new 2005 set of questions. my friends were also hit hard with pcl and mby. almost no pathology. ana is also getting tougher. no more brachial plexus... a lot of hard core anatomy being asked on my exam. my experience is somewhere in the forum too. I felt really shitty after the exam but hopefully it'll turn out fine. I'm sure u did ok.

I recently took the STEP1 exam. Many people said the real test is easier than Kaplan Q-bank and it lets you read what the questions want to ask without reading all. But my experience was opposit to it! I can't believe that. The sentences are way too long to be necessary. There are a lot of graph and calculation Qs. Some of qestions were within STEP 2 range PLUS the similar questions appeared 2 time. Is the test system fair?????????? Is that my fault?????? I completely feel like the American computer test was playing games with me. Ohhh, I have no idea how the computer program works behind the test. I even feel America doesn't welcome IMGs anymore. sad :?: sad

Hello Cp2755 and alosh_2

I am also an IMG

Took step 1 today

Well I felt that from what I had read in this forum that the REAL THING would be easier than Kaplan QBank. In my opinion, many questions where very similar in content and style. I had the impression that number of clinical vignettes would be greater in the REAL TEST but, there were a lot of questions which you know or you don't.

What is the minimum passing score?

Well, I 'll have to wait for my results now. When are they available online?

I faith in the Lord Jesus and He knows what is best for me.

Dudes !

I m an IMG. took the exam 4 wks ago. felt exactly likt u. like all the time i sepnt studying didnt pay off. as if the intent of the exam makers is to make you feel u failed, make u fell u can't bit them.
But...

I got the results yesterday, and i passed (222/90) !

So, my advise to you is: Relax - party, and most important:
Repress Repress Repress.
since you cant do anything to change the results now.
you will probably get a score higher then you feel.

Good Luck

i agree with curve. i got the result too. i got 93. thanks to all for their wishes. right now i m unable to recall what i got on exam. and also as per the usmle rules i think its considered violation to post exam content. in my opinion and as per my exam experience i think molecular biology is the most difficult in exam coz its hard to figure out what are they trying to ask. and also they test very simple things about important topics ,sometimes so simple things that we skip those things thinking they are too simple and easy to be in exam . so make sure u know simple and basic things very clearly .
