hi hatooma, i'm sorry to hear about your cs result. i myself am still waiting for my results, and i'm getting worried. i don't know about yourself, but i am an img, and i have to have a passing score (in addition to passing on step 1 and step 2 ck) by february 23, in order to participate in match. of course, if you can get a prematch offer, then you can always reschedule your cs and take it again. you would have to do this as soon as humanly possible in order to get a closer date, because when july comes around, you won't be able to start without a passing result on cs. so my advice is to reapply immediately, and take it on the soonest date you can get. other than that, continue with your interviews, do the best you can and simply explain what happened, and let them know of your intention to retake soon. keep going as if everything is fine, so that you can finish all your other requirements on time. good luck hatooma.

Well, you did mention you automatically retransmitted your scores, so yes, they will see your results. As for prematch, I suppose you are right, because I think end of January is the deadline for programs to decide how many spots to offer in the match (meaning they have to give out their prematches by this time). However, don't lose all hope for this year! There are several programs that do not participate in the match, which means you can still apply to them and retake your CS as soon as possible in the meantime. What specialty are you applying for? I know of a couple programs in New Jersey that do not participate in match. One is St. Michael's in Newark, NJ, for internal medicine. There is also a program at Jersey City Medical Center for pediatrics. As far as I know, both of these do not participate in match, and so you really have until July to get a new CS score reported. That's why you should redo the CS as soon as humanly possible, why wait. That way, you can at least give a shot for 2005. As to the programs you have applied for already, without passing scores on all the exams (step 1, step 2 ck and cs) by February 23, you will not be participating in match. That is why I encourage you to seek out programs that are not participating in the match.

Any suggestion for future cs takers like me. I have mine in early feb. Best wishes for your future. You will be passed next time. Good luck Sar.

actually about the history taking i think i asked most of the important questions as i did memorise the history taking general questions...but of course i probably missed some questions that might have been significant for the case in specific.....but i dont think i did that bad still.. as for wahsing hands ,pulling extension and draping and doing all that i didnt miss that in any case.. i did little practice for medical note but i did take a look at the ones in OSCE and tried to simulate as much as possible.i didnt sleep good and my hand writing was not so good.most of the others in the chicago center typed on computer im actually starting to think that that might have been a difference. as for physical examination i was only focusing on the local system involved didnt do much general examination. there were 12 cases and there was one case i really did bad in totally messed it up in diagnosis as it was leg pain probably DVT or something but i was so busy in acting i wasent thinking properly and i was focusing more that it might be osteoarthritis or RA i only recognised after i got out of room!!! thats all folks!!i hope this helps u guys!and i hope nobody gets the same experience i have.... and i know kaplan course is too expensive thats the reason i didnt take it but now i wish i borrowed the money and took it!!so if anybody can take it ......just take it as the risk is too much in case u dont pass ull have to pay more and more besides the chances u lost and the years thats going by.......so throw them thier money in thier face and get over with it!!

I guess finishing your interviews might not make a difference, since they are probably participating in the match. Of course, you could still go through with them, in case they have open spots after the match which you can scramble for. Also, try to visit as my websites of programs as possible and look for ones which are outside of the match. I have also heard of others who failed the CS on grounds of communication skills despite them being able to speak English and knowing their stuff. It makes me worry a lot about what's going to happen. God help us!

dont worry im sure ull all do fine, mostly everybody i know passes!! another thing i didnt mention i was getting out early in almost all cases, time was not a problem 4 me, even though time isnt enough for 4 most people, so i guess i might have been in a hurry...so take ure time and dont be in a rush like i was , and spend the time that u have with the SP relaxingly, as long as you know what your doing and good luck 2 all
